Ministries
Youth- The youth program is designed for students graduated from sixth grade through high school. In addition to Sunday School, this group of peers has the chance to come together on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. to learn about the abundant life that God intends for them and to simply enjoy some fun together.
Adult- The adult Sunday school class offers a chance to study God's word in depth. God is at work in this small group as they continue to discover God's glorious plan and follow Christ. Additional times for fellowship and Bible study take place in the church building on Wednesday nights at 7:00 and at Fillmore Gardens (802 N. 22nd Place) on Thursday nights at 7:30.
Missions- Central Phoenix Church of God is faithful to spreading the gospel in the local community and to the world. Through the exciting faith promise program, families and individuals in the congregation faithfully put money that God has entrusted to them toward missions. Currently the missions' budget is divided among Pastors Tom and Becky Imende and Pastors Tom and Shirley Daniel. The Imendes work with a children's orphanage in Kenya and the Daniels work alongside the homeless in Phoenix.
Worship- As Christians we seek to worship God in whatever we do because we were created for His glory. In the Sunday services, one way we worship Him is through music. A dedicated worship team leads the congregation in a unique mix of traditional, contemporary, and gospel-praise style songs.
Prayer- An intentional time of prayer is set aside at 7:45 after Bible study on Wednesday nights. A prayer calendar is also prepared as a tool for the church family to remember each other specifically in prayer throughout the month. Another ministry is the Prayer Chain. Urgent prayer requests are called in to be passed along by telephone to individuals who will then pray for that need.
